Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade – November 27, 2025
The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is the centerpiece of the holiday in NYC. It steps off in the morning on the Upper West Side and finishes at Macy’s Herald Square in Midtown. Expect giant character balloons, dazzling floats, marching bands, and celebrity performances—ideal for families and first-time visitors.
Viewing tips:
Arrive early along Central Park West (W. 75th–61st Sts.) for excellent views without end-of-route congestion. Dress in warm layers and use public transit; sidewalks fill quickly.

Route at a glance:
Start near W. 77th St & Central Park West → Columbus Circle → east along Central Park South → south on 6th Ave → finish at 34th St and Macy’s Herald Square.

Balloon Inflation (Wednesday evening):
On parade eve, watch the giant balloons come to life by the American Museum of Natural History (Upper West Side). Free, sidewalk-only viewing; access points and hours are published closer to the date.

Parade Viewing Brunch:
Prefer a warm, seated vantage point? Several venues sell viewing-brunch packages with windows on the route—these sell out early. (Grandstand seats seen on TV aren’t publicly sold.)
